Go to Company > Customize Application > Settings > Partner to access your platform-wide partner settings.
Basic Settings
Partner Sign Up
When a partner signs up for your program, you can choose how to handle the account when they complete the signup form and any additional signup questions:
- Auto Approve – When the user signs up for an account, they are automatically granted access to your platform. They can start grabbing tracking links from offers and promoting.
- Require Approval – When the partner completes the signup form, they are set to “Pending” status in the platform, where you or another partner manager can approve/deny them access. Until then, they cannot access offers.
- Phone Verification – To reduce potential fraud, you can have your partner verify their identity by having an automated message call to read them an audible PIN that they enter on step two of the signup process. This will verify that they have provided their valid phone number. We partner with OnVerify.com to authenticate the user, and their service fees apply separately. When you create an account with OnVerify, you can obtain the User ID and API Password that can be put into the Partner Phone Verification settings:
- Referral Only – With this setting enabled, partners can only sign up for your platform if they are using a referral link provided by other partners. This referral link can be accessed on the partner’s snapshot page and looks something like this:
http://NETWORKID.hasoffers.com/signup/1004
- Disabled—This disables the signup page for your platform. However, you can still create partner accounts from the admin or through a remote signup form using the API.
CAPTCHA on Sign-Up
Note: This feature will only work with Version 2 of an API key with Google. You can generate a V2 key by going to this link once you have signed up with the reCAPTCHA service.
It requires users to complete CAPTCHA verification upon sign-up. If users don’t complete the CAPTCHA successfully, their application won’t be submitted. This helps to prevent scripts or bots from creating accounts. You must sign up with reCAPTCHA to obtain the required public and private keys:
Once you sign up with reCAPTCHA, Google will give you a public and private key that you will need to insert into your application settings.
Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication is a security setting that requires an extra layer of authentication from you and your users. After providing a valid email and password, users must enter a temporary number they receive on their smartphone. With this setting enabled, all partner users must set up and use two-factor authentication when logging in. This setting can be overridden at the partner account and partner user account levels.
Partner Managers
Partner managers are employees in your system that can manage a subset of your active partner base. Partners are assigned to an account manager, and that manager can only see stats for their assigned partners (unless they have the Global Management permission enabled in their account). This setting allows employees to assign partners to their accounts and potentially set a commission for the employee based on their partner’s performance.
Partner Sign Up with Manager
When an employee has Partner Management permissions enabled, the employee has the option here to have an exclusive signup link provided for them on the Snapshot page. Partner managers can then use these links to promote your company, and partners that click and sign up from these links are automatically assigned to that partner manager.
This setting specifies the partner's status when using one of these signup links. Auto-approve sets the partner to "Active" in the system, and the partner can immediately access their dashboard. Require Approval sets the partner to “Pending,” and an admin must manually approve them.
Manage Pending Accounts
This feature enables partner managers to see pending accounts and assign themselves as account managers. If disabled, only employees with global permission can see pending accounts and approve them.
Show Active Unassigned Partners
If your application has set the partner signup to “Auto-Approve,” all new partners will not have an account manager assigned to them. With this setting enabled, partner managers can see partners who do not have an account manager in their list of partners and can assign the partner to themselves. If disabled, only employees with global management permissions can access these unassigned partners.
Partner User Management
If the partners are external companies with more than one employee managing campaigns, each partner account can have multiple logins. You can enable this setting to allow the partner user who created the account to create additional user accounts for that partner. If disabled, this can only be done by an administrator.
Custom Start Page
When partner users log in, they are taken to their Dashboard/Snapshot page by default. You can override this by setting this to “Enabled” and entering the internal URL you want the Partner User to go to. See our Custom Start Page for the Partner Interface article for more details.
Partner Referrals
If you want to incentivize partners to grow your business by having them refer other partners, you can pay the referring partner a commission based on the performance of the partners they refer. This setting enables partner referrals for your platform, and a new referral section will appear at the bottom of the partner settings page.
Custom Partner Referral Link
If you use a custom signup form for your platform (your partners sign up on a remote page outside the TUNE platform), you can use this setting to provide your partners with a custom partner referral link. Partners that want to refer other potential partners can then retrieve this URL from their interface.
For the referral to take effect on a custom page, add the {affiliate_id} macro in the URL so you can pass the referring partner ID into the custom signup form API call. Here’s an example of how this could look on a custom signup URL:
http://yournetwork.com/signup/publisher?r={affiliate_id}
Partner Referral Pixel
You can set a tracking pixel to fire the first time a partner logs into their account, typically right after they sign up. Enable this setting to display an additional Conversion Tracking Code field where you can place your tracking pixel. This only fires when the partner user logs into their account for the first time.
Hide Caps
If your offer has any conversion or payout caps set, your partners can see the caps in their interface. To hide these values from the partner, set this to “Enabled.”
Sale Amount
Partners can see sale amounts passed to them on conversion via partner conversion links when enabled. Sale amounts appear in both their reports and postback data. This setting must be enabled to populate the {sale_amount} partner conversion link macro.
Conversion Access
In the conversion report, partners can view the status of conversions they drive for your business. This setting determines which conversion statuses a partner sees in their interface:
- Only Approved – Partners can only view approved conversions in their interface. Pending and rejected conversions are not shown.
- Approved / Pending – Approved and pending conversions are shown to partners. Rejected conversions are not shown.
- Approved / Pending / Rejected – All conversions, regardless of status, are shown to partners.
Third-Party Partner Pixels
Set the status of new third-party pixels added by partners. This setting only manages how partners enter partner pixels/postback URLs in their interface. Auto Approve sets new partner pixels or postback URLs to "Active." Require approval sets new partner pixels or postback URLs to pending, and employees must approve them. Disabled doesn’t allow partners to place third-party pixels or postback URLs on offers (all placement of partner pixels and postback URLs will have to be completed by employees).
Stats API
Enable partners to interact with the partner stats API and determine if they need prior approval. The stats API for partners gives them access to the same data available in the reports in their interface. If set to Auto Approval, partners can make API calls immediately. If set to Require Approval, the partner's API requests must be approved by employees. Pending partner API requests can be approved from the API page (go to Support > API > Partner API V3 Keys). If set to Disabled, partners won’t access the partner stats API.
Partner Ad Manager
Your Ad Manager tool lets you and your partner run campaigns for banners/links and rotates multiple creatives in a single ad tag code. With this setting, you can allow partners to create and manage their ad campaigns on their end using offer creatives.
Creative File Size Limit
Partners have the option to upload creative files to your offers. This setting limits the file size of creative files partners may upload. The maximum is 102400kb. Set the value to 0 for unlimited.
Partner Billing
Feature to create and manage partner payments, including automatically generating invoices and mass payment options. If enabled, you will be able to set the default partner billing preferences. See below for the full suite of partner billing settings that appear when this setting is enabled.
VAT Tax
Enable this setting to add, edit, and delete VAT rates and codes for your partners. You must have the Enable VAT Platform-wide application setting turned on for this to appear.
Enable Tax ID Field on Sign Up
If you want to collect a partner’s SSN, VAT ID, or other fiscal code for tax reporting purposes for partner invoices, this field can be enabled on sign-up to collect this information. For this to appear, you must have the VAT Tax Platform-wide partner setting turned on.
Partner Referral Commission
This section only appears if you set Partner Commission to “Enabled” in the Basic Settings section. Here, you can specify the default commission structure for your partners.
First, set the rate type. This can be either a flat, one-time amount when a partner signs up, or you can set an ongoing commission based on a percentage of the partner's earnings. When choosing a flat commission, specify the amount in your local currency.
To provide an ongoing percentage for your partner referrals, set the rate type to “Percentage.” The Base Field setting will appear. This is the value from which you will calculate partner commission. You can choose the partner payout, revenue, or profit from earnings as the base field.
The last field lets you enter the rate you want to pay. If you opt for a flat rate, a currency amount (for example, 75.00) is required. For a percentage amount, a whole percentage number can be entered.
Partner Billing
If you want to use the partner billing system to manage partner invoices or payments, these settings can be used to set the defaults and enable invoicing/payment options for partners. For most settings, these are default values and can be overridden at the partner level.
Partner Invoice Frequency
This setting will let you choose by default how often you want to generate partner invoices. You can choose from weekly, bimonthly, monthly, two-month, quarterly, manual, or set another frequency. You can also set this for each partner if they have negotiated to be on different invoice frequencies.
Require W9 / W-8BEN
Reminds customers to provide you with a W9 or W-8BEN if they have received a payment if you have information filled in for the custom W9/W-8BEN URL below.
This feature causes partners to see an alert when they log in until you receive their paperwork and update their account as received. Until then, W9 / W-8BEN, a notice will appear in their account to submit the form along with the link you indicated.
Note: For partners to see the alert, Custom URLs for W9/W-8BEN must be set to “Enabled,” and a custom URL must be set for W9, W-8BEN, or both.
Custom URLs for W9 / W-8BEN
By choosing where to host your W9 form, you can use your own W9 submission process or send partners to a form that you host. Many companies have their online process for submitting W9s, and customizing the W9 location allows them to use that process. Disable this setting to have the partner download the forms from the IRS website.
Generate Invoices by Advertiser
When this is disabled, billing will generate invoices based on each currency used (if you’re using multiple currencies). Enabled will allow invoices to be generated for each advertiser and each currency used by that advertiser.
Auto Generate Invoices
Check this box if you want to generate partner invoices automatically. If enabled, invoices will be automatically generated based on partner billing preferences. If disabled, you can manually generate invoices from the billing section.
Minimum Invoice Payments
At the end of the billing period for a partner, your system can automatically determine who to generate invoices for. To prevent generating invoices and processing payments for small amounts, you can select the minimum threshold of earnings a partner can earn before you generate an invoice, and they can receive payment. It’s not uncommon for a partner to have a minimum earned balance of $50 USD before the partner can get paid, but this value can be higher or lower for your company.
If a partner does not earn the minimum amount required to get paid for the current billing period, their balance will roll forward to the next billing period, during which the same check will be applied to see if they have met the minimum requirement for payout. This prevents automatically generating invoices for partners who have not earned at least this amount. The current options are:
- 0 (any amount will generate an invoice automatically)
- 25
- 50
- 100
- 250
- 500
- 1000
These amounts are set to your platform currency.
Enabled Payment Types
This allows you to enable or disable payment types through which partners can choose to be paid. Select the options you want to be available for partners:
- Wire
- Check
- PayPal
- Direct Deposit
- Payoneer
- PayQuicker
- Other
Default Payment Type
Select a default payment type for all new partners that sign up. The default payment type must be selected in the Enabled Payment Types list.
Payment Reconciliation
After invoices have been paid for partners, you can create payment receipts for partners that will simultaneously mark invoices as paid in your system. This is commonly referred to as Billing Payments in the system. This setting lets you enable or disable billing payments for all partners in your system.
