Over the past several months, TUNE has been hard at work improving the network experience to better meet the needs of our Network Partners. Specifically, we’ve been ensuring both offer and conversion data is always accurate and up to date in real time.
In order to take advantage of this improved system, we’re asking Network Partners to “migrate” to the new experience. This will require two major changes:
-
Updating tracking links
-
Migrating to new API endpoints (for partners currently utilizing the TUNE API)
Updating Tracking Links
Once your account is on the new network experience, your offers will have new tracking links. This is required to ensure data accuracy and additional flexibility moving forward. You will be required to replace any existing links with these new links on a date of your choosing.
Example
Old Tracking Link
https://old.tracking.link/aff_c?offer_id=12&aff_id=1003&source=facebook&aff_sub=blackfriday
New Tracking Link
https://new.tracking.link/aff_c?offer_id=26&aff_id=4706&source=facebook&aff_sub=blackfriday
The changes to links will be seen in the base of the URL. Changes include updated domain, offer ID, and affiliate ID. The parameters that you define may remain the same.
Migrating to the New API
With this new system comes new ways to access data and that means new API endpoints. The new API will surface data and conversions associated with the new tracking links.
Any existing API endpoints currently in use should be considered deprecated. The new API endpoints are available here.
You’ll notice a limited set of available endpoints, but we believe this is enough to get basic stats around conversions in order to measure performance.
We’re continuing to build additional functionality and would like to hear additional requirements that may be needed. In short, the new API provides:
-
Conversion data, including payout and status
-
Basic offer information
Coordinating a Migration Date
We suggest coordinating a migration date ahead of time. Choose a day that best fits your process. On this day, several events will take place:
-
New tracking links will be made available in your account
-
Old tracking links should be replaced with new tracking links in any location they are currently published for your audience
-
-
In your TUNE account, the existing reporting tools will be replaced with new reporting tools better tailored to Network partners.
-
Note: once new reporting tools are made available, historical reporting data (prior to the migration date) will no longer be accessible through your account. (Historical payment information will remain available)
-
If you require access to historical reporting data, email partnerships@tune.com and we can provide a CSV spreadsheet of historical conversion data for any specified time frame.
-
Reporting Considerations
On your migration day, as soon as tracking links are updated, tracking data will now be flowing into the new TUNE Network system. As mentioned above, this means your account will no longer have access to older reports and data generated prior to links being updated. Contact TUNE if you need historical data and we can pull this for you in CSV format.
Feedback is Welcome
TUNE will continue to add additional functionality to the new Network. As a result, we want to hear from you. If you feel there are specific features that will help you better work with the platform, we want to know about it so that we can prioritize those additions on our roadmap. Please contact partnerships@tune.com with any questions or issues.
